Here comes Spring…hopefully!
March 18th, 2019…. Course Update
Our first look at the golf course without snow and ice is positive. We have some low-lying areas, mostly fairways, that may have ice damage but it is still too early to tell.
Our next step is the transition into spring. Great swings in temperature can set turfgrass back as it comes out of dormancy. As the long-range forecast is looking favourable, we cross our fingers for a better transition than last year and an early spring. We certainly deserve one.
When the ground is dry and free of frost, we will start our spring opening protocol. This usually is a 2 week process with course clean-up, aerating, bunker maintenance, and of course warmer temperatures. As for opening, no decisions have been made thus far, as it is still too early to confirm.
Watch for our next update in 2 weeks!
Here’s to a great season!!
