Dear Lady Members,

Our Tuesday ladies day golf has come to a close with the cooler weather and rain upon us, but what a busy year it has been.  I find the time has sped by with Christmas just around the corner.  Speaking of Christmas, if you have a few hours to spare on Monday, November 9th and/or Tuesday, November 10th please consider coming to our club and helping Jackie Washbrook decorate for Christmas.  Any amount of time you can give is very much appreciated.

This season we had tremendous participation on Tuesdays for our regular events and for Ladies League.  The League grew in numbers this year with 106 players.  We would like to see that number increase next year.   Congratulations to all the winners of the Tuesday events and to the Golfettes who won Ladies League.  I would especially like to congratulate Tania Clancy, our 2015 Ladies Club Champion, on her outstanding play for the victory.

The West End Captains meeting was held at Markland Woods Golf & Country Club.  This meeting is held at the end of the golf calendar year for Golf Captains, Past Captains and Executive Presidents to get together and discuss Ladies Golf.   Clubs who participated this year were Hamilton, Weston, Mississaugua, Credit Valley, Islington, Weston, Toronto Golf, Toronto Ladies Golf, Markland Woods, St Georges and Burlington.  This year the topics centered on Ladies Day, Ladies League play, Member Guest, Club Championship and Senior Club Championship.  Your new Golf Captain, Debbie Bristow, Past President, Kathy Moore and myself attended this meeting.  It was a very interesting and informative meeting.

When discussing Club Championship, every club but one holds a Seniors Championship separate from their main Club Championship weekend.  It is a 2 day event and all the Club’s had this tournament on a Saturday and Sunday.  Your Ladies Executive is considering this for next year.  This would take Golden Girls, Diamond Lil and Double Diamond Lil out of the main Championship and give them a separate tournament.  Players can play in both Championships if they choose.

Before going forward with this, the Ladies Executive needs to know if there would an interest in the Seniors Championship and how many ladies would participate.  If it looks like we would have a good turnout for this event, then we will approach the Board in regards to setting this up.

Please take a moment to consider the Seniors Championship and email our Golf Captain, Debbie Bristow at, Past President, Kathy Moore at or me at with any questions and interest in participating.  Your input is important to us.

Wishing all of you a happy and safe winter where ever you may spend it.

See you all next Spring.

Ladies Executive President
