Dear Lady Members,
Christmas and New Year has come and gone. I would like to take this moment to thank Jackie Washbrook, Janet James and their team of elves for the beautiful job decorating our club house.
It always has a feeling of magic once it is done.
Now our thoughts are looking forward to spring and the new golf season. Ladies Opening Day is a week later this year on May 3rd, this will give our snow birds an extra week down south.
Debbie Bristow, our Golf Captain, has been hard at work preparing the 2016 Ladies Golf Calendar.
I believe Debbie is hoping to introduce a new game or two this year. Check out the latest news from Debbie and Cyndie on The Golf Sisters Blog, click the link below for details.
We have also added the Ladies Senior Club Championship. This tournament is for ladies in the following age groups: Golden Girl – 50 to 59, Diamond Lil – 60 to 69 and Double Diamond Lil 70 and up. We have always had this event, it was just part of the Ladies Club Championship and we have decided to separate the two. The Senior Club Championship is a two day metal play event being held on July 16th and 17th in the afternoon. Sign up will be on line. Remember, you can also play in both championships.
Our Ladies Club Championship will be held again on the last weekend in August, beginning on Friday August 26th to Sunday August 28th. This will be a three day event for everyone. There may be cuts after the second day of play, but that will depend on numbers of ladies registered.
Burlington Golf and Country Club ladies section is no longer taking part in the Jessie B. Dixon. It has had a very long run here at our club and it will be missed by some of us. We are still going to be part of the Hunter/Armitage and this year it is being held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Beverly Golf and Country Club.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at: email@example.com or any of the other ladies on the Executive. We are here for you.
I hope the sun is shining where ever you may be.
Ladies Executive President
