“But in the end it is still a game of golf, and if at the end of the day you can’t shake hands with your opponent and still be friends, then you’ve missed the point.”
The home stretch of the Golf Season is here!!
Our wet and wild summer has just flown by!! Back-to-school, cooler weather and the approaching end of the golf season is upon us. Please be sure to read Karen Dyson’s President’s Letter for more detailed information about some of the following thoughts and reminders:
1- Ladies Club Championship: What a fantastic weekend!! The course was in tip top shape and we could not have asked for more perfect weather! We have a new Club Champion this year with Jenna Hague taking the top spot while shooting an impressive 220 over the three days. Joan LaSorda claimed the Senior Club Champion title. Congratulations to all the winners from all the flights and a big THANK YOU to the volunteers who helped out over the weekend.
2- Match Play Champs: Diane Regan is our Jacquie Rosart Match Play Champ and the team of Kim Frid and Julie Allen are the Anniversary Match Play Champs this year. Claire Salisbury teamed up with Paulo Zulian to win Mixed Match play. Congrats to all!!
3- Team Play Closing and My Best Score (September 19th): The races are tight and the last week will determine who can hold it together and be crowned champions. The Ladies Executive has also added a fun game for the day: “Odds & Evens”. Sign up with team play members or friends on the golf calendar. Remember that you have until next Tuesday to update your best score on the locker room posters.
4- Mississauga Interchange (September 21st): Only 4 spots left for our last Interchange of the year!! Get first right of refusal to play at Mississauga next year.
5- Ladies Closing and Pari-mutels (September 25th): Shotgun at 12:30pm followed by cocktails and a wonderful buffet dinner. Sign up as a single, 2some, 3some or 4some on the golf calendar. Pari-mutuels will be in the Chalet starting at 11am. Can’t golf? Come join us for the festivities that evening!
6- The 3 R’s: As we finish off this wonderful golf season let’s all remember to respect our beautiful course and the people playing behind us. Replace our divots, Repair our ball marks and Rake the sand traps.
May all your drives be long and putts be straight,
Cyndie Horner =)
