It’s September… where did the summer go?
Where did the summer go? We reflect back on what seems like a particularly quick summer. Cooler temperatures & steady rains helped the course stay healthy through a good growing season. For traffic on the course, rounds of golf are slightly lower than last year. This is the time of season where we do see the wear & tear of the summer. Again, with good weather, the course is showing less stress & good recovery from summer traffic.
We head into the fall with a healthy golf course. Cultural practices will continue on maintenance Mondays, keeping the turf in a healthy growing pattern. As we send our university & high school staff back to the books, our smaller fall staff will continue to provide great conditions. We do ask the members for their help in exercising good golf etiquette. Please remember… Replace your divots; Repair your ballmarks & always Rake yourself out of bunkers J
Jeff & I would like to thank the membership for all of their support this summer. This has truly been a great summer for us. Also, thanks to our turf crew... what a group. They woke up 7 days a week before 5am & came in with smiles on their faces. That says it all!!
Here’s to a great fall.
