Now that the golf clubs have been put away, the curling season is in full swing after a warm weather start. Everything is running very well and the ice is remaining consistent with good speed and a positive curl inside and out.
Some of you have noticed a new product that we just installed on Sheet E. It is called Klutch Curling (www.klutchcurling.ca) powered by IntelliSports.
This product tracks your delivery and shots through magnets installed in the ice with sensors in the the rocks. You are able to get this info via any iOS device with Bluetooth communications. This product will help curlers at all levels to improve their game. More info will be published in the upcoming week.
Just a couple of reminders: Cool your slider shoe down when you first get on the ice. This will help preserve the pebble in the hack area. Also, watch the knee and hand prints.
All it takes is three seconds for your hand or knee to alter the ice and anything over 10 seconds leaves a fabric print or finger prints. (Which I turn over to Halton Police to analyze - HaHa!)

Prior to moving to Canada and obtaining his first OCA certification, Craig was an ice tech and curling coach in Wisconsin. He successfully coached a junior women's team to the National Championship title and instilled a life long love of the sport in the kids. Several went on to high competition levels, including National Championships, World Championships and one was a member of the US Olympic team in Vancouver 2010.
