Tomorrow is our last day for WADG playoffs, may the best team win. The following week we have the WADG banquet. Please register on the calendar for the morning cross over or the afternoon shotgun and indicate if you will be attending the dinner. For those that cannot make golf and wish to attend the dinner, please email Derek Koschir at email@example.com
Men’s Closing is September 30th, please sign up with a team or individually on the calendar, and keep October 14th open for the very popular Oktoberfest Tournament, our last Men’s event of the year.
I would also like to congratulate our new Club Champion, Eric Ross as well as our A Flight Champion - Andrew Leyland, B Flight Champion - Sean Thompson and C Flight Champion - Marv Taylor. I hope everyone who participated enjoyed the competition and the challenging course set up. Many thanks to Trevor Fackrell and Dean Baker and their staff for another well-organized event.
Lastly, as chairman of the Handicap Committee, I would like to update you on our progress with regard to individual handicaps. As you may recall, a few years ago, we began a campaign to increase the communication and visibility of individuals handicap. I am pleased to report that 189 members have achieved over 96% score entry. This represents 40% of our male members. 318 of our members are over 80% which is 66.25 % of all gentlemen members. This is a significant increase from where we were when we began three years ago.
Should you wish to confirm your own score entry % while in GGGolf, click on Handicap/Groups>then on Games Played (reasons no score) > then click on the yellow pencil to put in a reason for no score. If it is a silver pencil then you have posted this score and it will appear (See below for a screen grab). If you played a game of less 7 holes etc. etc. that you do not wish to count, you can enter a reason through Games Played (Reason No Score).
Should you have any questions about your handicap, please don’t hesitate to reach out to anyone on the Captains Committee.
All the best for the rest of the season,
